Picking up Oliver from the Parkers
Oliver had a great time. He always has a good time with the Parkers. Even though all the other kids in the house didn't get good sleep that night, poor Stephen and Koryn, Oliver slept til 7 or 8, I forget which. And even though our whole lives of a family of four was ahead of him, all he could say when it was time to go was "more" more of the Parkers. More of his wonderful cousins.
Koryn, as always is wonderful and loving and knows how to hold the babies, at least mine, so they won't cry. What a loving woman.
This is Isaac, although it's so dark it looks like Ben. Those two look so alike. Sydney loved seeing baby Finn, although she is more of a leader and director and helper and teacher of Oliver. It was Ben who was the most interested in his little cousin. Ben sat for twice as long as Oliver did in the hospital. He just looked at him and starred and loved him. He was holding his so quietly and happily that Koryn and I forgot, left the room, and we had to be called back to come pick up Finn when Ben was finally done. What a sweet and loving little man. I do not know any time when I have seen a three year old show so much gentleness. And Isaac was excited and made comments but was also too busy enjoying life to be slowed down.
When we finally got home and put such a tired Oliver to bed for a nap, Ryan and I realized that we hadn't changed Phineas' diaper in a long time about the same moment when we were taking him out of his car seat and found this. The biggest poop any boy has done at such a young age. He pooped on the blankets, car seat, everything. It was a mess. And right at that moment Melinda Moen stopped by to drop off a baby carrier. Ryan and I were in such a high from company at the hospital that I forced her to come in and wanted to talk at such a traumatic moment. What a hilarious homecoming. What a strong boy. We are so proud of what he can do already. And he is so handsome in his complaint face.
